AN INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR

Over at Uncouth Reflections, Blowhard, Esq. has published an explosive tell-all interview with yours truly.

Actually, he just asked some brilliantly provocative questions about my life as a working writer and my latest efforts as the author of fiction e-books, which I tried to answer as best I could. You might find it of interest.

  1. I enjoyed that, Lloyd, and I probably don’t have to say I’d be your first buyer if you ever wrote that Kirstein book. What was that first Balanchine/Stravinsky ballet you saw? You didn’t get to New York in time for the Stravinsky festival, did you? Still, whatever you saw must have been in great shape.

    • I got to New York in time for the festival but didn’t actually see a performance until the next season, when a number of the ballets made for the festival entered the repertoire. The first ballet I saw was the Stravinsky Violin Concerto, and is has remained my favorite Balanchine ballet.

  2. It’s one of my favorite Stravinskys (and one of my favorite Stravinsky scores), along with Apollo and Divertimento from Le Baiser de la Fee. As with Agon, I love the choreography for the corps as much as that for the principals.
