AN EMILY DICKINSON POEM FOR TODAY

Tell all the Truth but tell it slant –

Success in Circuit lies

Too bright for our infirm Delight

The Truth’s superb surprise

As Lightning to the Children eased

With explanation kind

The Truth must dazzle gradually

Or every man be blind –

  1. It's ironic that the lady who is known as “the woman in white” wears black in her only authenticated later- than- childhood portrait.
I really love the poetry of Emily Dickinson. In her poems, she talks about things profound. The best thing about her is that she let us see death and other “dark” subjects in a very different light.
