  1. IYO, what are the top five Christmas albums?

For sentimental reasons, I remain partial to The Andy Williams Christmas Album (the original red cover one recorded for Columbia in the early ’60s).

Without a doubt (IMO), the finest recorded versions of “The First Noel” and “O Holy Night” ever.

    • I have a lot of sentimental favorites based on childhood memories, but the five that hold up for me best over time are Elvis’s Christmas Album, Sinatra’s Christmas album, Dylan’s Christmas album, the Pavarotti album above and “O Come All Ye Faithful” by the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge (a collection which has been released under various titles over the years.) Garland’s performance of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” in “Meet Me In St. Louis” (as distinct from the studio version she did for Decca) is my favorite Christmas recording of all time.
